General information
The Golf 1 to 4 golf cabrio was produced in March 1979 as Golf 1.There were approximately 389,000 Golf 1 Cabrio produced up to August 1993.
This was followed by the Golf 3 and Golf 6 Cabrio. As of spring 1998, there were up to mid-2002 Golf 4
This golf 4 was changed only at the front and rear as well as in the interior.
Also this Golf 3 Cabrio model was produced in the considerable number of about 171,000 units.
An exceptional innovation of the Golf 1 Cabrio at the time was, that behind the front seats a rollbar was arranged.
This roll bar was installed due to increased safety incase of a rollover.
Is the Golf convertible top once open, the use of the convertible top cover is required.
These golf 1 cabrio soft top tonneau cover is available from us on request.
In Golf 3, the use of the cover is no longer required.
Except for the last few years, the Golf 1 convertible top was only produced in PVC roof material. We offer the Golf convertible top mainly in convertible top fabric.
Until 2002, all generations of the Golf Cabrio Karmann at the company were made in Osnabrück.This company is now released and extinguished after a bankruptcy.
There is no direct successor of Karmann tops.
The roof area was taken over by the company Valmet from Finland 2010 and in Osnabrück continued, but not by the name of Karmann. The resolution of this production is announced.
A top producer Karmann in Osnabrück no longer exists, even if from a top Retrofitters in Osnabrück this impression is to be awakened.
