The structure of the window unit is as follows:
Inside the vehicle, you can see a solid aluminum frame in the shape of the glass pane. This aluminum frame is riveted to an iron frame that is not visible. Between these two frames is clamped the convertible top fabric. The glass pane is in turn glued to the non-visible metal frame.
The pane is cut out in the usual way for car glass. The two frames are separated from each other. Precisely positioned drill holes in the soft top fabric reliably determine the position of the pane. The two frames and the soft top fabric are reassembled and the pane is glued back on.
